Sweet And Frosty Watermelon Mint Frosé

I will drink wine of any color, I don’t discriminate, but I do like to pair my wines with the season. Moving into the warmer weather, I prefer rosé and whites because they are typically served chilled, and sitting outside in July, you want something refreshing. This Watermelon Mint Frosé captures just that. You have the fresh ripe melon, the sweet mint simple syrup then blended to icy perfection with the rosé; it’s basically air conditioning for your soul.

    Ingredients For Watermelon Mint Frosé

    • Fresh cut cubes of watermelon.
    • Fresh mint leaves.
    • Simple syrup- equal parts granulated sugar and water.
    • Rosé of your choice- I went with a drier Rosé because the watermelon and simple syrup were already sweet.

Helpful Tools To Make Watermelon Mint Frosé

    • High-speed blender- I use my Vitamix blender almost daily.  You will never run out of uses for this machine.  I make everything from baby food to pitchers of frozen beverages, so this is my go-to for this Watermelon Mint Frosé.
    • Silicone baking mats– These are pefect to freeze your fruit on. They make removing the frozen fruit super easy; no sticking to the metal baking sheets.

    Hot Day? Reach For Frosé!

This recipe comes together fast, and to speed things up, prep the watermelon and simple syrup the day before. Chop up the watermelon, or buy the pre-cut pieces, and lay them flat on a cookie sheet lined with a silicone mat. The silicone mat allows you to easily remove the frozen chunks of watermelon without them sticking to the baking sheet. Freeze overnight or a minimum of 6 hours. Next, mix equal parts granulated sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until all dissolved. Add a couple of fresh mint sprigs to your simple syrup and let cool to room temperature. I make this the day before; remove the mint, cover it, and stick it in the refrigerator. Before you are ready to serve, toss the frozen watermelon, mint simple syrup, and rosé into your high-speed blender and run until smooth. Add more rosé if needed. Serve this Watermelon Mint Frosé immediately garnished with extra mint leaves.
