    Apple Cider Sangria

October 15, 2020 By Melissa Leave a Comment

Just because Summer is over does not mean you have to stop drinking sangria. This Apple Cider Sangria recipe is crisp and refreshing yet has the spicy warmth of cinnamon that really gives you that Fall feeling.  A couple of years ago, I made a large batch of this easy Apple Cider Sangria and served it to my neighbors while we gave out Halloween candy. It was a huge hit.  That Thanksgiving, I made it my signature drink, and everyone l loved it.  The best part is, the earlier you make the drink, the better it is, and if you host Holidays, anything done beforehand is a colossal win!

Helpful Tools For Apple Cider Sangria

    • Stemless wine glass– Easy to hold, and less likely to tip over.
    • Glass pitcher– I use this pitcher for nfused water, lemonade, and cocktails.
    • Cinnamon sticks– I sometimes find cinnamon sticks hard to find in the food stores, especially around the holidays, so I have been ordering them from Amazon.

You can adjust this recipe however you like depending on your level of sweetness. Using my Homemade Apple Cider recipe, you might find that you need a sweeter white wine like a Riesling (sweet) or White Moscato. Store-bought apple cider tends to be a little sweeter, so a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc will work great.

Fall flavors burst through in this Apple Cider Sangria because of the cinnamon whiskey.  It complements the spices from the cider and really brings a crisp harvest taste.  A bit of cinnamon sugar on the rim adds a crystal crunch to every sip. I like to add the cinnamon sugar to the glasses ahead of time, so all you have to do is fill them up.

How to make Apple Cider Sangria

Start by pouring the white wine, apple cider, and cinnamon whiskey into the pitcher and give a stir.  For the apples, I like to leave the skins on to add color. Slice them super thin and add to the pitcher. For a nice balance of flavor, I will use a sweet and tart apple. Add a few cinnamon sticks and chill overnight. That’s it, super easy!
