This Spellbound Cocktail stands up to its name with the mesmerizing bright purple-blue color, swirling shimmer, and intoxicating taste. It’s Halloween, and this is my kind of potion.

Mysterious Halloween Cocktail
Whatever the holiday is, I love my food and beverages to match the theme of the night. This Spellbound Cocktail brings the mysterious feel of Halloween to life. The color is beyond enticing, and with a little magic of shimmering dust, I want this drink in my hand all night. The base of this cocktail is a traditional vodka sidecar made with vodka, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. With a bit of grenadine, blue curacao, and shimmer dust, you are turning your drink into a potion.
Helpful Tools For Your Spellbound Cocktail
- Coupe glasses– I was looking for an old fashioned styled coupe glass and came across these. I love the details on the stem of the glass.
- Shaker– I love this bar set. The pieces have remained shiny even after hundreds of washes.
Ingredients For Your Spellbound Cocktail
- Vodka- Use your favorite vodka.
- Triple sec- Definetly use a true triple sec here, especially since you want a clear base to really make the purple color pop! Grand Marnier would work flavor wise, but the color would cause the drink to turn brown.
- Fresh lemon juice- Freshly squeezed lemon juice makes all the difference with the taste of the drink.
- Blue Curaco– If you don’t want to add any extra alcohol, this blue curaco is a great choice.
- Grenadine– Being non alcoholic, you can find grenadine in grocery stores and even places like Target. So many cocktails call for grenadine, so it’s a great addition for your bar.
- Purple luster dust– I used this edible luster dust from Amazon.
Whipping Up Your Spellbound Cocktail
Usually, the family that lives nearby, cousins and grandparents, hang out at our house to enjoy the holiday. I’ll have little bites to eat, and a spooky cocktail will be brewing, and this Spellbound cocktail is the signature drink this year. We live in a neighborhood with a ton of kids that take Halloween very seriously. It’s nothing to have about 400 Trick or Treaters, and with all the excitement, there is very little time to be making drinks. Making the cocktail even easier is having the magic potion (grenadine, blue curacao, and luster dust) already mixed in a potion bottle, so all guests have to do is add vodka, triple sec, and a fresh squeeze of lemon. It adds to the décor and makes serving super easy. You could even leave a drink recipe card on display!
